Shelf helps protect your privacy by giving you more control over your digital life.

Shelf is working to make the internet a place where people are empowered — where your data serves you, not the other way around.

We’re building our services to give you more control over how information about you is shared across the digital ecosystem.

We imagine a future where every individual can define their own privacy policy — a personal set of preferences and instructions that determine how services collect, use, and share their data.

Check out our Privacy Policy & Terms of Service.

How can you control who has access to your Shelf?

  • You decide what appears on your Shelf, and you can edit or remove items at any time.

  • You don’t need to connect any platforms to use Shelf — you can always add things manually. And if you do choose to connect accounts, Shelf will access only the information you authorize, and only to provide the features you’ve selected.

  • You can use Shelf by yourself, without following any friends.

  • You can manage connections, adjust sharing, or delete your data directly within the app at any time.

  • Over time, you’ll be able to create a privacy persona — a personal set of rules that define who can access your information and for what purpose. Any sharing will always happen on your terms, and only to support experiences you choose.

How does koodos, the creators of Shelf, advocate for data rights?

Beyond building Shelf, we've worked with coalitions at the forefront of developments around how to protect consumer data rights, including by supporting efforts to work with policymakers and alliances that advocate for data rights. We are also signatories of the Inspired Internet Pledge and engage with our users and other members of the online community to work toward a safer and healthier Internet for everyone.
